ANALYSIS OF LANGUAGE CHARACTERISTICS FROM GENDER PERSPECTIVE ON DENNY SUMARGO'S PODCAST

This study aims to describe the linguistic characteristics of Denny Sumargo's podcast with Hages Budiman and Eky Priyagung. And to describe the relationship between language and gender in relation to the background of the research subjects. The method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative method with the research technique of Simak Bebas Libat Cakap (SBLC). Then the data is sorted and analyzed according to the theory used, namely Lakoff's theory (1975). The results of the study are presented in the form of descriptions accompanied by tables and pictures. The results of the analysis show that women's linguistic characteristics are found more in Denny Sumargo's podcast with Hages Budiman than with Eky Priyagung. contains lexical hedges, intensifiers and tag questions. This means that women are more aware of their status and need recognition to strengthen their opinions. However, Hages as a woman does not avoid pronouncing harsh curse words. the relationship between language and gender cannot be separated from the background of the research subjects. Hages and Eky who were the subjects in this study both told about their personal lives experiencing gender injustice.
