IMPROVING STUDENTS SPEAKING SKILL TROUGH THREE STEPS INTERVIEW AT THE NINE GRADE OF AL FALAH ASSALAM JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL TROPODO – SIDOARJO

As we know there are four Skills to study a foreign language those are speaking, reading, writing and listening. English is very important to learn by the students at early beginning until adult. One of the skills in English is speaking. Speaking skill is emphasized on students who learnt English. This research has a problem as how is the mechanism of three steps interview in improving the student’s speaking skill of nine grade Al Falah Assalam Junior High School Tropodo – Sidoarjo This study is to find out the mechanism of three steps interview in improving the student’s speaking skill of Al Falah Assalam Junior High School Tropodo – Sidoarjo. The researcher chooses to use class room action research as the method of research. The researcher collects the data by using test and questionnaire. The data is gotten by the students’ problem in their learning process. The result of the study is known at first time he come in, the result of the student achievement was just 29.166% where the student who passed is just consisting of 7 students and there are 13 students who did not pass. In cycle 1, the researcher got new data where the student who passed is more than in preliminary student which consist of 12 students who passed. In the cycle 2, the researcher had already prepared everything more than in cycle 1. The student who passed is consisting of 17 students. It indicated that the technique is successful. Suggestion for the teachers to have a high motivation for the students who does not have an interest to learn and speak up in English, given more attention to them so they may study hard, keep spirit and facilities all students to increase their interest in learning.
