MENINGKATKAN PEMAHAMAN MATEMATIKA SISWA MELALUI PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA REALISTIK

Pembelajaran matematika realistik berkaitan dengan sekeliling kita, sesuatu yang pernah dialami siswa dalam hal yang biasa dilakukan tiap harinya, dan matematika diterapkan sebagai kegiatan siswa. Siswa – siswa yang berkegiatan ini diarahkan untuk dapat mencari penyelesaian secara mandiri masalah yang dihadapi pada setiap harinya. Pada Pembelajaran matematika realistik ini pendidik diperkenankan berpartisipasi menjadi mentor, mengawasi, memandu, dan mengarahkan, sedangkan siswa melakukan penalaran dan adaptasi dengan menyesuaikan atau mengkondisikan hal yang berkaitan dengan menghargai suatu pendapat dari pihak yang terlibat. Penelitian dalam artikel ini memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya peningkatan pemahaman matematika siswi kelas VIII MTs Raudlatul Ulum Putri Ganjaran Gondanglegi Malang dengan Pembelajaran Matematika Realistik. Penelitian dalam artikel ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan subjek penelitian seluruh siswi kelas VIII MTs Raudlatul Ulum Putri Ganjaran Gondanglegi Malang sebanyak 30 siswi. Materi yang digunakan yaitu materi peluang. PTK ini dilakukan dengan 3 siklus dimana masing – masing siklus dilakukan 2 pertemuan, dan tiap siklusnya terdapat 4 tahapan, yaitu perencanaan, implementasi, observasi dan refleksi. Menurut hasil penelitian yang telah dihasilkan, dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa keaktifan siswa meningkat menjadi 85% pada siklus 3, sedangkan hasil belajar siswa meningkat dengan rata – rata nilai sebesar 88 di siklus 3, dan ketuntasan belajar siswa pun meningkat di siklus 3 sebayak 26 siswi dari 30 siswi atau secara presentase meningkat menjadi 86,67%.

This study investigates the integration of ethnoliteracy strategies grounded in Majapahit culture within BIPA programs to enhance linguistic skills, intercultural awareness, and learner engagement. Employing a qualitative methodology, the research involved semi-structured interviews, reflective journals, and classroom observations to collect data from participants. Thematic analysis and triangulation were used to identify recurring themes and validate findings. Results indicate that the incorporation of Majapahit cultural elements, such as proverbs and folktales, significantly improved participants' language retention, practical application, and cultural empathy. Participants reported heightened motivation and a deeper connection to Bahasa Indonesia as a living language intertwined with history and cultural values. This study highlights the transformative potential of integrating local heritage into language education and offers practical implications for designing culturally responsive curricula in BIPA programs.

THE ANALYSIS OF SECOND LANGUAGE ACQUISITION IN CHILDREN VS ADULTS

This article aims to provide a comprehensive analysis of the interaction between children and adults when learning a second or foreign language, to offer a more coherent and academic response to the question of whether children outperform adults in second language acquisition. The process of learning a second language can occur naturally, in formal instructional settings, or through social interactions. Several internal factors, such as the role of the first language, student motivation, and attitudes, play a crucial role in determining the proficiency level of second language learners. The findings of this study lend support to the notion that the aging process is correlated with a decline in the ability of pupils to recall language information. However, it is important to emphasize that successful second language acquisition is not solely determined by age, but rather hinges on the individual's intrinsic motivation to engage in meaningful communication and interaction with others through the medium of a second or foreign language.

Representasi matematis adalah cara mengungkapkan gagasan matematika dengan menerjemahkan permasalahan ke dalam bentuk visual seperti gambar, grafik, tabel, tulisan, atau simbol. Model pembelajaran Conceptual Understanding Procedures (CUPs) dirancang untuk membantu siswa memahami konsep-konsep yang sulit dengan pendekatan konstruktivistik, yaitu meyakini bahwa siswa membangun pemahaman mereka sendiri dengan mengembangkan atau memodifikasi pengetahuan yang sudah ada, serta menerapkan prinsip pembelajaran kooperatif dan aktif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana meningkatkan kemampuan represetasi matematika siswa dengan metode Conseptual Understanding Procedures (CUPs) pada pokok bahasan Himpunan kelas VII SMP Nurul Hikmah, Murangsanah Mandung pada tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadi peningkatan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa setelah mendapatkan pembelajaran dengan metode Conseptual Understanding Procedures (CUPs).
